First Year Coordinator

Established in 2003, concurrent with the inception of the college at SKSVMACET, Lakshmeshwar, the First Year Engineering Department (General Science) serves as a foundational platform for budding engineers. It functions as the crucible where students are introduced to the basic branches of various engineering disciplines, fostering a holistic understanding for effective problem-solving. This initial year acts as a nexus where diverse streams of engineering converge, contributing to the overall growth and development of the aspiring engineers.

The First Year Engineering Department (General Science) primarily focuses on three core subjects: Engineering Physics, Engineering Mathematics, and Engineering Chemistry. The Physics lab, covering 111.75 sq m, and the Chemistry lab, spanning 205 sq m, are equipped with advanced facilities, well-furnished instruments, and state-of-the-art equipment. Adhering to the guidelines of Visvesvarayya Technological University Belagavi, the labs, facilities, and infrastructure are designed to provide students with a comprehensive and quality learning experience.

With a commitment to nurturing well-rounded engineers, the First Year Engineering Department at SKSVMACET plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic foundation and overall growth of its students.

The dedicated faculty members of the department bring a wealth of expertise to the table, marked by achievements such as Ph.D. completions, successful clearance of KSET exams.

The First Year Engineering Department has a robust infrastructure that provides an optimal learning environment for students. The department is equipped with a sufficient number of well-designed classrooms (5 Numbers), ensuring that students have comfortable and conducive spaces for academic activities. In addition to classrooms, state-of-the-art Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics laboratories are available, each stocked with modern equipment to facilitate hands-on learning experiences. Other laboratories in participation with core departments like Computer Aided Engineering Drawing(CAED), Programming Laboratory (C  and Python),  cater to various engineering disciplines, allowing students to gain practical insights into their respective fields of study. Furthermore, the integration of modern teaching aids such as Projectors in every classroom contributes to effective and dynamic classroom sessions. Additionally, the department boasts a well-stocked library, serving as a valuable resource hub for students and faculty alike. Collectively, the First Year Engineering Department’s infrastructure is designed to adhere to the rules and guidelines of Visvesvaraya Technological University.
